Compare the bold Illusione Maduro with Mexican San Andres wrapper to the smooth Illusione Original Documents Candela. Find out which one fits your taste and budget.
Quick answer
Choose Illusione Maduro if you want a bold, full-flavored smoke with a Mexican San Andres wrapper. Pick Illusione Original Documents Candela for a smooth, mellow-to-medium bodied experience with a unique green wrapper.
Wrapper makes the difference
The most obvious difference between these two Illusione blends is the wrapper leaf. Illusione Maduro uses a rich Mexican San Andres wrapper, known for its dark color, earthy sweetness, and full body. Illusione Original Documents Candela features a rare AAA-grade Candela wrapper, which is green and delivers a smooth, mild-to-medium smoke with subtle grassy and herbal notes.
Your personal taste preference for strength and flavor profile will be the main deciding factor. Maduro fans typically enjoy bold, peppery, and sweet notes, while Candela smokers appreciate a lighter, more nuanced smoke that is easy to enjoy any time of day.
Strength and body
Illusione Maduro is a full-bodied cigar that satisfies experienced smokers looking for intensity and complexity. It is not a beginner-friendly choice. In contrast, Illusione Original Documents Candela is much milder, making it an excellent option for those new to cigars or for smokers who want a lighter session without sacrificing flavor.
Price and value
Illusione Maduro is priced at USD 259.03 (compared to USD 398.50), while Illusione Original Documents Candela costs USD 194.65 (compared to USD 313.95). The Maduro commands a higher price due to the premium San Andres wrapper and its fuller flavor profile. The Candela offers a more accessible entry point for those curious about Illusione's quality without the full commitment.
